The Black Community Resource Centre invites you to participate in our project “Living History: 100 Years of Black History, Culture and Heritage.” We will be creating 15 Memoryscapes of sites, organizations, and landmarks of cultural and historical significance to the English-speaking Black community of Montréal. These oral histories enable the listener to experience the hidden history of a place by listening to the memories of past and present inhabitants, while also documenting and celebrating the significant contributions of the Black Anglo community. The project will use cultural geography, documentation, and audio history approaches to observing, recording, and videotaping the history of English-speaking Blacks in Montréal since 1900.
If you are interested in additional information or the possibility of participating in this project please attend the information session or email us at livinghistory@bcrcmontreal.com
