21 Youths Calling

Youth in Motion Project

English Speaking Black Youth in Quebec often feel alienated from the dominant culture as a result of being both a linguistic and racial minority. To foster a sense of belonging for English speaking Black youth, Youth in Motion will carry out a project entitled 21 Youths Calling.

Using music as a vehicle for self-expression, ESBY will work alongside professional English-speaking Black artists that will act as mentors to undergo a creative process that explores what it means to be a young English-speaking Black youth in Quebec.

The project will culminate in the production of a CD and a final community event where each youth will have the opportunity to showcase their work.
